JTT

Don't pretend you don't remember him! He was the heartthrob of every 10 year old! All that hair, those cute cheeks and mischievous ways. Jonathan Taylor Thomas was DA BOMB! The thought of this long lost hotty kid actor brought to mind a letter I attempted to write to JTT under the guidance of my much wiser and younger cousin, Hillery. It also brought to mind how I knew only 2 things when I was 10: the love and my family and the love of God. As I knew JTT didn't know my family (and thus I couldn't talk about them) the letter read something like this. The ( ) are my feelings on the letter today.

Dear Jonathan Taylor Thomas, (perhaps I put simply John, to initiate familiarity)
I think you are a really good actor. I love watching "Home Improvements" all the time.(being too shy to tell him how hot i thought he was i next wrote) Do you know God? He can forgive all sins. If you'd like to know more about him you should write me back and I can tell you all about him.(note my method of getting him to write me back, sheer bribery in the form of Christianity! Had I no shame?!)

Sincerely, (not wanting to appear too enamored)
Challis

I would like to say I never actually sent this letter...I wonder if JTT is a Christian? Maybe I should send this letter now.

rewards?

I wasn't forced to take an Organizational Behavior class for nothing! I know the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic rewards in the work place...and let me assure you I'd rather the intrinsic. We have weekly draws at work for selling particular things: wine, steak, sometimes the specials. People win sweet stuff like MP3 players, DVD players, and wide screen TVs. So I entered my name happily this week in hopes of winning such funky technology. I won too! I won honey. Yup--honey. 2 jars of honey that they picked off the shelf where we sell them in the restaurant. I feel so special. I'd rather have won a chance to tell the management what I really think--that'd have been intrinsic!

Anyone want some PB and honey, come on over to my house (bring you're own PB).

hometastic

It is often delicious to come home and enjoy the treats life has to offer. Such as home cooked meals, cheap pedicures, bizarro Vietnamies restaraunts, and hanging out with friends you've known you're whole life. mmmmmmm....horrible memories of Winnepeg fleeing my brain...

Winnipeg, the second Seville

Some of you may remember the time my family spent in Europe 8 years ago. We travelled around in the teeniest of rental cars, saw the sites, and generally had a great time. One town, however, was equivilent to standing under high pressure water after being horrifically sunburnt, and having to listen to Aquas "Barbie Girl" a repeated number of times. This towns name--Seville, Spain. Imagine the teeniest car stuck between vespa sized streets, $300 laundry bills, lost passports, and a car accident. Well at this weeks family reunion Seville was recreated--Canada style--in Winnipeg. The temp was 43 degrees with the humidity, dad found a fly in his coffee (by means of his mouth), an empty Pizza Hut managed to make us three pizzas wrong (3 of us in the family are hypoglycemic...I'll let you imagine the tempers we had on us), and of course, the truck was broken into in the "secure" hotel parking lot with a video camera pointed at it and they still couldn't find out who did it.

It was ridiculous.
